Zinc Animations pt. 2!

Today Im just posting a couple of new animations for my CG character animation class. Again using Zinc as a fun little vehicle to train myself. It's actually been a lot of fun to watch this character come to life! Every day the process of animating in 3d becomes more and more pleasant. Im still fighting the program ocassionally (as well as my own ignorance on physicallity and motion!) but overall this has been a lot of fun and ive learned a LOT. I think if I went back to 2d after all of this, id probably be able to bring more life to my traditional animation than before, simply because 3d animation is all about attention to detail.

Anyway, here goes nothing!

Advanced Walk (walk with kickback, more controlled) side view only

Slow Run (almost a trot) side view + projected walk at the end

Next Up ill be working on another animation, now with Zinc jumping over an object,
So today I recorded a bit of footage of someone performing that action and did a few thumbnails.  This is all about thinking about action and figuring out what the body is doing, so these drawings are all about exploration, rather than looking pretty. Hopefully the animation itself will come out nice.

Zinc! 3d character animation

Meet Zinc! This is a very very basic character I created for a character animation class
We were basically encouraged to do a stick figure type character with slight variations
The line turnaround had to be modified slightly from the original sketch to accomodate for the requirements of the class.

After a few weeks of class, we started animating. this is my second attempt at a classic walk with this character (created entirelly in maya of course)
